Less Is More - Week 4 - squares!

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge over at Less Is More. I love this challenge so  much that one of the first things I do on a Saturday morning is to check what the new challenge is!

This is just the friendliest challenge around - last week I had the most comment and most page views per day ever from the lovely participants in this challenge visiting my blog! Thank you so much everyone!

This week's challenge is to follow the recipe "3 squares".

I decided to use kraft as my base card this week, and to have a play with the new stamps I bought this week (Marianne Design Eline's Huis). So, without further ado, here's my card:

I've coloured the squares with Distress Inks (Tattered Rose and Vintage Photo), stamped the images with Coffee Bean Brilliance Ink and clear embossed them, and then adhered them to the card with 3D foam. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I've also added some twine that I also coloured with the Tattered Rose DI and distressed the edges of the card slightly with scissors, which you can't really see that well in the photo.
I must admit that I only noticed as I was editing the photo that I'd adhered the first square on the card upside down! Of course, I could pretend it was an artistic decision and not a mistake at all!

The distressing to the squares and cards give a rustic feel - and I love it with the cross-stitch heart! To be honest, I didn't notice that the stamp was upside down - I had to go and check!! Lovely card!!

I agree with you about the friendliness of this challenge - it was my most viewed ever last week too :-)

I hadn't noticed the upside down postmark until you mentioned it - but I actually think artistically it flows that why as the lines lead your eye up to the next image.

Love the kraft background too - gorgeous card.

Hi Laura,
I didn't even notice the upside down image but we card makers are such an honest lot - we always 'fess up' to our mistakes! I love this card and I should have used a brown ink pad on mine too but I didn't have one. Lovely! xx

Think your card has to join my list of favourites this week!

Adore how you have combined the brown card and the fantastic images. The postal mark being upside down is how we see most of them anyway and i think it adds a fun element to your wonderful card:-)

Love the brown paper look and the heat embossed sentiment is awesome.

Great card... the upside down square doesn't seem so at all.
