Growing In Unity - Friday

It's Friday and that means it's the last day of my Growing In Unity blog posts.
This has got me back into blogging after a long break and I think I will continue to blog more regularly again.

Today's project is a winter holiday card using Unity's Warmth & Winter Wishes stamp and matching die.

I love the little tree but the matching die is really tricky to place exactly on the stamped image! I also managed to give myself a paper cut from a piece of cardstock! So I've really suffered for my art today... ;)

Thanks again for all your comments this week, and please check back during the weekend to see who the lucky winner of two Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company is!

Have a great weekend!

Growing In Unity - Thursday

Thanks for all your lovely comments so far this week! Keep them coming - at the end of the week I'll draw a winner out of all the comments to win two Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company.

On today's card Unity stamps really play the lead role. I mixed stamps from two different kits, and used them with one of the background stamps (the hearts I stamped inside the jar). This large jar is one of my favourite stamps at the moment.

The jar is attached to the card with foam pads to give it more dimension.

Have a great Thursday and see you tomorrow for the final project of my Growing In Unity week!

Growing In Unity Week - Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

We've reached the middle of my Growing In Unity week already and today I'm sharing my favourite project of the week as a mid-week treat...

This is an MDF money box house I picked up at the Alexandra Palace Stamping & Scrapbooking Show last year.

I've used My Mind's Eye design papers, Paper Artsy Fresco paints, Prima tiles, lace and of course a selection of Unity stamps to decorate this!

Here are some more photos from different sides...

As it is a money box, I should probably start putting spare change into it to save up for more Unity Stamp purchases! Good plan, don't you think?!

I hope you're all having a great week. Don't forget to comment on my blog posts this week - at the end of the week I will select a random winner out of the comments, and the winner can pick two Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company!

Growing In Unity Week - Tuesday

My second project for my week as the Growing In Unity gal is this fun masculine birthday card I made for a male friend.

Masculine cards are often difficult to make but these stamps from one of Unity Stamp Company's Kit of the Month kits have saved the day more than once! I went with a clean & simple design on kraft cardstock to let the stamped images take centre stage.

Have a great day!

Growing In Unity week - Monday

Happy Monday!

I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity gal over on Unity Stamp Company's blog this week. Each day this week I will feature a project made using Unity and Ippity stamps.

I will draw a winner from all those who leave comments on my blog this week. The winner will win TWO Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company! So hang around, comment and check back at the end of the week to see who the lucky winner was!

So, time for my first project...

This card was made with some of my very favourite Unity and Ippity stamps. I was in the mood for autumnal colours as it is a crisp autumn day here in London! And I love that quote - "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are."

See you again tomorrow!

Ippity Chick Challenge #21

It's a sunny Saturday here and I've been to a lovely local market for fab organic and local produce. (And cake, but don't tell anyone...)

Anyway, it is also time for the next Chick Challenge {with Ippity}. Here is this week's card sketch:

I went for a very clean and simple interpretation of it - and without even thinking, chose yellow cardstock as my base just like in the sketch!

I know I say this all the time but again, I really love that sentiment! It's Ippity 'Happy Are Those' stamp. If I'd had charcoal or teal ink pads, I probably would have used one of those instead of the black but as I don't, black it is.

Supplies: yellow cardstock, My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline 'Dilly Dally' papers, baker's twine

Have a great weekend!

Unity March KOM Challenge card

Hello, Monday!

Time for a new Kit of the Month challenge over on Unity's blog. The sketch for this month is fab!

I used a past kit from November 2010 for my card.

I love the collection of frames stamp and thought it worked very well with the sketch. As a nod to the butterflies in the sketch, I masked off each frame and used the stamp with lots of small butterflies to stamp inside all the frames. The sentiment is also from the same kit.

I kept the rest of the card simple without embellishments as the frames are quite detailed and busy.

Supplies: Unity Kit of the Month November 2010 stamps, My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline paper, brown Memento ink, Promarkers.

All you need to do is fly...

Here is something else I made with some of the new Unity Stamps...

So far I've seen this Phyllis Harris "your wings exist" stamp used coloured in, which is lovely, but I wanted to do something different with it. I've used vintage sepia colours with a hint of purple.

The other stamp I used is also by Unity and called "Noted by".

The girl is coloured in with Distress Inks and a waterbrush.

It is a card but I think I will keep it myself! I love that sentiment. <3

Ippity Chick Challenge #20 card

Here's what I did instead of housework today...

It's a card for this week's Chick Challenge {with Ippity}. For the first time Unity Stamps can now be used for the this challenge in addition to Ippity. And that's just what I did. This is the card sketch:

And this is what I made:

I used Unity Stamp "Here's the Ticket" for the ticket, and Ippity's "Now and Always" set for the background flowers and the sentiment (which I cut in half to fit on the ticket).

Suzi Blu canvas

This is something I made late December/early January but never got around to blogging it... a little canvas using Unity Stamps.

I used acrylic paints for the background and also did a lot of stamping with paints. The focal image is a Suzi Blue stamp with that sentiment I love so much - "I am a creative girl, I have the right to make my mark, I deserve a rewarding creative life." Love, love, love!

I made this as a gift for a friend who is definitely a creative girl.

Unity February KOM challenge card

Hello! New week...

And almost a new month, but just before it closes, I made a card for Unity Stamp Company's February Kit of the Month sketch challenge.

This is the sketch:

And this is my interpretation of it:

The little birdies and the sentiment are stamps from January 2012 Unity Kit of the Month. I paper-pieced the birds for a pop of colour. The papers are more new My Mind's Eye from the On the Bright Side collection. Love those fresh summer colours!

Supplies: Unity Stamps, My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side One and Two 6x6 paper pads, Spellbinders label die, Archival Ink (Sepia), Distress Ink (Tea Dye), brown ribbon, blue cardstock.

Have a great week!

Unity Pinterest challenge card

Happy Saturday!

Unity Stamp Company is currently running a customer challenge on Pinterest.
This is my entry...

All the stamps used are by Unity.

I also have a little favour to ask... if you are on Pinterest, would you go here and click "Like"? Likes are votes in the challenge and my entry is currently looking a bit sad with only 5 likes... Thank you!

A good day.

It's a good day to have a good day.
It's a Friday! And the weather is spring-like and gorgeous. After many darker months, there is finally NATURAL LIGHT to take photos in! Just a few reasons why today really has been a good day.

That stamp is one of the new Unity co-brand Authentique releases. I just love it!

Back and published.

I know, I know. It's been ages since I last blogged anything.

But, what better way to come back than with a card that got published?!
I was in Craft Stamper February 2012 issue, on the "Over To You" pages with a Craft Stamper inspired project.

This was the card:

I loved the "crinkled ink" technique that inspired my card. It's super simple and fun to do. It was explained in November 2011 Craft Stamper.

I've used some of my favourite stamps from Unity Stamp on this. Thought the catching dreams stamp was a fun contrast to the butterflies!
